The Camilla Thurlow Interview

To celebrate the Joma Jewellery x Camilla Thurlow Edit, we caught up with Camilla herself to get the lowdown on her edit, favourite pieces and jewellery styling tips!

We sat down with author and former Love Island star, Camilla Thurlow, to hear all about her Joma Jewellery x Camilla Thurlow Edit, find out her favourite styles and get the skinny on what her day-to-day life looks like!

The Joma Jewellery x Camilla Thurlow Edit has something for everyone, which piece is your personal favourite and why?

“I love all the pieces from the edit but if I had to pick one favourite it would be Riviera Baroque Pearl Bracelet. I think gold and pearls is such a timeless combination, and I also love the cleverly adjustable chain so you can make it the right length for you. I think it looks perfect with an everyday outfit like jeans and a white t-shirt but would be equally stunning with an evening look.”

Which is your favourite sentiment from the edit?

My favourite sentiment is ‘Proud Of You’. I had a friend send me a card that said ‘Proud Of You’ once, and it was such a special way for her to mark something that might have seemed small to others, but she knew was a big deal for me. Life is full of milestones, and it’s important to recognise and value these.”

How would you describe your personal jewellery style?

“I love mixed metals so the A Little ‘Better Together’and A Little ‘One In A Million’bracelets are some of my favourite standalone pieces and are perfect for every day when I keep my jewellery quite simple just for ease when I’m chasing a toddler around and getting the washing done! But I love that it’s so easy to stack these and just add a couple more A Little Bracelets if we are heading out. Clothes wise, I wear a lot of neutral basics, so I like to use my jewellery to add a bit of extra sparkle or a pop of colour, like the Bohemia Green Agate Earrings and matching Bracelet, which look stunning with the colours I wear a lot, like blush pink.

Joma Jewellery helps to create the most heartfelt moments for every occasion. Which pieces from your collection make the perfect gift?

“I think the Birthstone pieces are a beautiful, personal gift for a birthday and I love the A Little ‘Friendship’ Bracelet as a ‘just because’ treat.

How do you stack your Joma Jewellery edit/which styles look best paired together?

“I love mixing and matching my A Little Bracelets, they all look good together so it’s easy! I also think a gorgeous pair for spring is the Wellness Stones Blue Lace Agate Bracelet with the A Little ‘Wisdom’ Bracelet, that combination looks particularly lovely with a pretty, white blouse and blue jeans. The Riviera Hammered Wave Charm Necklace is gorgeous with the Riviera Baroque Pearl Bracelet, and then if I feel like layering, I’ll add the Positivity Pendants ‘Live To Dream’ Necklace and Bracelet with the Bohemia Green Agate Bracelet and Earrings for the perfect finishing touch.”

What does a typical “day in the life” look like for you?

“It’s pretty hectic, if I’m honest! That’s why I love Joma Jewellery, their classic pieces are so easy to pop on to add a little sparkle to my day.

Little Nell is the just the cutest! With another little one on the way, we want to know – what does being a mother mean to you?

“Since becoming a mother, I have laughed out loud at least once every single day no matter what else is going on, and it’s a daily reminder of just how lucky I am. Holding onto that daily reminder is so important because there can be tough times along the way, but for me, being a mother means trying to show my children how important and loved they are in the little moments just as much as the big ones.”

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

“I always find this tricky to answer as there are so many incredible women that I am inspired by but sometimes I think it is nice to recognise those closer to home. Only now am I understanding the work my mum put in to looking after her four children. She made being a mother look effortless to us, but was actually putting in 100% effort every single day.”

What life mantra do you live by?

“I don’t think I really have a life mantra but one thing I think I’ve realised since having Nell is how important it is to me that she always feels valued and important. I hope her work is always seen and respected, whatever she may choose to do, and that her voice is always heard and valued equally alongside others. I hope she always feels a sense of her own value and invests in herself, and I wish, wish, wish that I had understood this for myself before. I wish I’d invested in myself more and I think motherhood has also been huge personal lesson for me in trying to give myself more respect and listen to myself a bit more.”
